Iraqi Forces Repels ISIS Attack In Mosul

Iraqi military forces in the early hours of Saturday morning repelled an offensive attack by the ISIS terrorist group.

The attack which took place in the Sunni town of Shirqat, South of Mosul caused 38 fatalities and 40 injuries to both military and civilians. According to reports, the Islamic State lost at least 24 fighters which ended around midday Saturday.

Authorities have since declared a curfew between Mosul and Baghdad, the Iraqi capital. The Islamic State lost Shirqat to the U.S backed Iraqi government forces and tribal fighters last year.
