Nigerian Billionaire Kidnapper Arrested

A high profile kidnapper, Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike aka “Evans” has been arrested by members of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police.

Evans 36, who has been wanted since 2008 is a native of Anambra State and has been described as “most wanted, vicious, and highly notorious”. According to the Nigeria Police authorities, Evans is considered a suspect in over 20 kidnappings, collecting ransoms of over $1 million from some of his victims.

His modus operandi (MO) involves working with two separate gangs to conduct kidnapping with members from each gang unaware of the existence of the other gang. Evans his known to have kept his victims in captivity for month until they are able to pay the ransom demand.

Evans was arrested on Saturday after the Lagos Police Command raided a Lagos property and was engaged in a gun battle with Evans and his gang. Seven people were arrested in the aftermath of the gun battle and 10 guns and more than 1000 rounds of AK-47 ammunition was recovered by security forces.
