Diya's House Gutted By Fire, Journalist Harrassed

The house of a retired Nigerian general, Lt. General Oladipo Diya deputy to Late General Sani Abacha, was on Saturday gutted by fire according to media reports.

The residence located in the Ikeja Government Reservation area in Lagos, was under heavily armed military guard in what seemed like an obvious attempt to block onlookers and the media.

According to Sahara Reporters, a female reporter who was lucky to gain access to the vicinity of the fire was harassed after being caught taking pictures and she was forced to delete all related pictures from her device.

While the fire was eventually put out about 7pm by the Lagos State Fire Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Services, officials were mum on the cause of the fire. retired Lt. General Diya was not at home during the incidence.
